This is the 4th Year Of The Annual Overnight Ride From Holyhead To Skegness and it takes place overnight on June 23rd/24th 2012
Fancy the joy of open roads? Travelling along at the speed limit with no hold-ups? Peace and quiet(apart from the sound of a load of motorcycles)?
- 2 in the morning on the A50 - nothing else about,
- great bits of road, no boring motorways
- no police coz they're too busy dealing with drunks in the towns
- and speed cameras don't work at night (okay, that bit's a lie!).
- All topped off with a bacon butty at 4 in the morning while watching the sunrise over glorious Skeggy beach,
( okay! okay! that might be stretching things a little bit too - but it is nice at Skeggy).

The ride departs from Southstack Car park, Holyhead at 9.30pm and travels across country (no Motorways) and aims to arrive at Skegness by 4.15am just as the sun rises.
The ride/route is fully marshalled and there are plenty of fuel/refreshment stops along the way.
The Departure point: South Stack Kitchen Car park, South Stack, Holyhead, LL65 1YH
All funds raised go to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Mayor of Holyhead will be there to see us off and the Mayor of Skegness will be waiting for us at Skegness when we arrive - there's not many groups that the Mayor of Skegness will get up at 3.30 in the morning to come and meet!
Participants are asked to pre-register (Rider only £10, Rider and Pillion £15) through the registrations page (click here)and then have a read of our Ride Etiquette Leaflet.
You can also download a personal sponsorship form by clicking here so you can get family, friends and work colleagues to sponsor you for taking part - raising even more money for Macmillan.
NEW for 2012: Event T-shirts that you can pre-order. Once you complete registration you will be sent an email giving details of how to order your 2012 T-Shirt.

“Now that the tiredness has gone and the emotion of the weekend is all over I just wanted to email to say thank you for an outstanding weekend, from start to finish it was laugh a minute and exactly how a charity run should be organised. Without trying to sound condescending you should be very proud of what this run has become, as my first time and a fresh set of eyes on the event it is without doubt one of the best organised runs I have worked on or been involved with – THANK YOU”
Dave:
“I met Jota and Bev at Menai bridge and rode up to South Stack Point which was covered in Thick fog. There we met Mark and the ride organisers who made us feel welcome and part of the group straight away.
We left at Sunset 21-31 in the fog. After about 30 mins the fog lifted and you could feel the temperature raise. It was great just watching what seemed an endless stream of bikes snaking away in front of you which got even better later on as we hit some twisties and you could see ahead for miles (A Snake of red lights).
The route was good and varied with some good riding showed by everyone (Well done to the marshals) We had well spaced out breaks and got to Skegness just in time for the Night clubs to be kicking out/off Oh and to see the sunrise.”

“Cheers to Akey for putting this ride up here (TMBF) or I'm sure I'd have missed it! Excellently organised and run event, a big thumbs up from me”
Paula:
"I just wanted to say what a great time we had over the weekend and thank you to the two of you. The organisation and planning must take a lot of your time but everything went brilliantly so credit to you both. Now that a few Wolds Bikers have taken part and enjoyed it I am sure we will have a few more next year, same goes with the IAM. "
