Adding the Sunset to Sunrise Itinery to your Tomtom Satnav This archive contains the following files Sunset ride-TomTom.itn Sunset_Ride_Start.ov2 Sunset_Ride_Start.bmp The aim of this guide is to help you install these files to you device and setup guidance for the ride and to navigate to the start point if you are making you own way to us. A couple of assumptions have been made for this, I am using the TomTom Go with the latest firmware and the Western Europe Map Pack and Microsoft Windows. Generally the porceedure should be the same on other OS's however this has not been tested. 1. Connect your satnav to your computer and switch it on, When prompted by the device select 'Yes' to connect to the computer 2. You do not need to use the TomTom Home application to complete this, In Windows Explorer (or what ever file browser you use dependant on you OS) browse to your device. In the devices memory you will need to located the ITN folder 3. Copy the Sunset Ride-Tomtom.itn file to this folder 4. To copy the Sunset Start point POI to the device, in your file browser locate your map folder. For example Western-Europe-1GB or Great-Britain-map, in this folder if you already have POI's installed you should see a lot of ov2 files and bmp files. If these are present. Once you have located this folder copy the Sunset_Ride_Start.ov2 and Sunset_Ride_Start.bmp files to this folder. Setting up Navigation to the Start Point 1. On your device, Select Navigate To... --> Point of Interest --> POI in City and type in Holyhead. If B4m Sunset Start is not listed in the Navigate to... Options touch the arrow in the bottom right of the screen to access the POI catagory list and then type B4M, this should show the Start point POI. Select this and follow the prompts on your device to setup navigation to us. Setting up the Itinerary On you devices home screen look for the Itinerary planning --> Options --> Load Itinerary If you are given a warning screen "Are you sure you want to delete all locations in the current itinerary select yes. You should now have the option to load the Sunset_Ride TOMtOM File, once loaded you itinerary should read: South Stack, 5 S Stack Road, Holyh, A51, A51, Near Uttoxeter, Near Shardlow Select Done and your device should ask "The first destination is 'Tower Esplanade, Skegness, PE25 3'. Navigate there now? Select Yes. Providing you have a GPS Signal this will setup the route and provide guidance on the route (However just follow the group is probably the safest :-) ) Notes These files are provided free of charge by Bikers4Macmillan and no warranty is expressed or implied and Bikers4Macmillan cannot be held responsible for any damamge or corruption of data on your device or computer. A Satnav is for guidance only, Please do not blindly follow them and exercise your own judgement on what you are being told to do. If the direction you are being told to go looks unsuitable for a 4x4 then you can bet it is unsuitalbe for your bike too. Above all enjoy the event and ride safe. If you have any comments, queries, or would simply like some help with the files (Please bear in mind, we have day jobs too and will do our best to answer any questions as soon as possible) please contact support@bikers4macmillan.org.uk
