Finally, thanks to Wheels Motorcycles of Peterborough for Sponsoring the Sunset to Sunrise tour this year and providing a Kawasaki 1400GTR (plus fuel) for the route marker.
The Planning meeting for this years events takes place next week so if you have any ideas for events/ ride / meets etc. please drop us an email admin@bikers4macmillan.org.uk with a rough idea and actual or proposed dates and we'll do the rest!

A brilliant weekend at the Spalding Bike Show, raised around £130 and met lots of new (and old) friends. There was a great deal of interest in the Sunset to Sunrise Tour 2012 and, if you're reading this as a result of picking up one of our leaflets, welcome to the group.
If you live in the Sleaford Area we are having our Monthly meeting in the Jolly Scotchman pub, Lincoln Road, Sleaford NG34 8NP and you are welcome to come along. The meeting usually starts around 7.30.
14/1/2012
The Spalding bike show today was a good day out, not a lot of money raised but a good chance for us to promote what we do and our events, especially the Sunset to Sunrise Tour. It's on again tomorrow so if you're at a loose end in the lincolnshire area why not drop in and say hello.
18/12/2011
Sorry, forgot to mention that we raised an amazing £263 at Morrisons in Newark on the 7th and helped the Louth fundraising team to raise over £431 at their Morrisons on the 5th - come on Newark, you'll have to try harder next year :)
A couple of good days out, a new experience for some and you get to meet some really nice people who are up for a laugh - you have to be if you meet us lot in the street! Don't believe me, take a look in the photo gallery........
13/12/2011
Probably the last chance I'll get to update the page before Christmas and the New Year break so, on behalf of all of us a Bikers4Macmillan, I wish you all the very best wishes for the season and great prosperity for the coming year.
We start the new year early again with a pitch at the Springfields Bike Show Spalding, Lincolnshire on the 14th and 15th January so, if you're in the area, why not drop in and say hello. We are just inside the main hall entrance. Click on the link above to find out more about the show!
22/11/2011
Not a lot going on this time of year, a few of us are doing bucket rattling at Morrisons supermarket in Louth on the 5th Dec and Newark on the 7th Dec and the 1st Ruskington Brownies are hoilding a coffee morning for Macmillan on the 3rd Dec which we are hoping to attend and help out with so if you're in the Lincolnshire area around the beginning of December why not come along and say hello.
We are just finalising a deal with National Bike Tyres for a discount on (believe it or not!) Tyres. They are pretty competitive anyway and are looking at offering a further 2% discount to group members.
if anyone has any other links to possible discount offers please let us know and we will persue them on behalf of the group send them to discount offers
28/10/2011:
Well, that's the AGM out of the way for another year. Short version is that we are doing really well and the group, and it's following, are growing all the time. The Chair and Events member were re-elected and there's been a change to the Secretary, treasurer and media post holders - mug shots will be uploaded to the gallery soon!
A copy of the minutes will also be uploaded to the site in the next couple of days.
One thing that did come out of the meeting is the arrangements for next years (2012) events calendar and a general call for everyone to give us their ideas for events. You can add them on our facebook page or email them to admin@bikers4macmillan.org.uk and I'll add them to the list. and remember, there's no such thing as a silly idea, all proposals will be looked at for feasability and potential support at the next committee meeting. This is your group and your chance to have a say in what we do. We're looking for at least one event per month starting from March and going through to October but bear in mind that the Sunset to Sunrise Tour is always in June and is our main fundraising event. Not all events are fundraising so ideas for a good weekend away or a day trip out (ride-in picnic) are just as welcome. after all, we are a bunch of motorcyclists who raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support not fundraisers who ride motorcycles!
21/10/2011:
Just a quick update to remind everyone that the AGM takes place on Tuesday 25th October 2011 at the Jolly Scotchman public house, lincoln road, Sleaford. All are welcome to the meeting which starts at 7.30pm. Keep an eye on the photo gallery for any changes to the current committee. Hopefully we will get some better looking committee members that the last bunch of holigans! - only joking of course! ! !
6/10/11:
latest minutes from the September meeting have been uploaded to the site - minor error in that the date on the minutes shows as 28th June insted of 4th Oct - cut and paste doesn't always work well especially when you don't proof read a document properly before uploading!
5/10/11
Despite rumours to the contrary we are still alive and well!
it's been a while since the last update but we've been really busy finalising the Sunset to Sunrise 2011 event. to give an idea, we are still receiving donations and sponsorship monies! the grand total (as of yesterday) for the Sunset to sunrise event was £3,951.25 which is brilliant and many thanks to all who took part.
The registration page for the 2012 event will open in January. The reason for the delay is that we are sourcing a supply of event T-Shirts which will be offered for sale as part of the registration process, only people who register for the event will be able to get hold of these T-Shirts so they are a bit exclusive (and cheap in price but not quality)........
You may have seen that the Louth (lincolnshire) fundraising group held their Macmillan Coffee morning on the 30th Sept and we were delighted to be invited along to help promote the event. Everyone had an excellent time and a very warm welcome with cakes and coffee. After our visit the riders went on to Cleethorpes for Fish and Chips, which raised a further £50+. photos will be added to the picture gallery soon.
We have had a couple of comments about missing committee minutes! unfortunately the secretary and the deputy secretary were both away at different times and had a problem getting the minutes uploaded to the site - this should be resolved in the next couple of days and the minutes from the meeting of 4th Oct will be uploaded at the weekend (8/9 Oct).
2012 RIDES: we will be putting the 2012 events calendar together in November and a few members have mentioned that we always seem to go south from lincolnshire on our rides so, if you have an idea for a venue let us know through the Group Email or through the Facebook group (see top of this page for the link to our facebook pages). it doesn't have to be fast or twisty bits of biking road, it can be a boat trip in the lake district or a picnic ride-in at the holy island of lindisfarne in northumberland for example.
Finally, the Group AGM will take place at the Jolly Scotchman pub, lincoln road, sleaford on Tuesday 25th Oct at 7.30pm. Volunteers and nominations for committee posts are to be sent to the Group Email by the 21st Oct but, if you are going to nominate someone for a post please make sure you have thier permission first - thanks

New photo added to the Sunset to Sunrise Gallery. The Cheque presentation of £3650.00 - brilliant effort by everyone and many thanks to you all. There's still more money coming in but the total as of 29th was £4512.60p but that includes funds raised at an earlier bucket rattling session and the group operating funds. We have two more bucket rattling days at local supermarkets before Christmas and will be making a final donation for this year just before Christmas.
We've also got an idea for a Macmillan Toy Run for Children living with Cancer but we need to do some more work on that one before I can give you details.
29/8/2011
and we are still getting money in from the Sunset to Sunrise Ride. We are around the £4.5k mark now (I'll have the full amount after Tuesdays Meeting). for the 2012 event we are going to be offering the option to purchase sunset to sunrise ride t-shirts and/or wrist bands when you complete registration on line. More details to follow once we gat a good price for the printing!
26/7/2011
There's still some money to collect in for the Sunset to Sunrise Tour 2011 but we are delighted to be able to say that we achieved our target of £3650 for this event which is incredible and a really big WELL DONE to all who took part . £3650 represents 10p per day for each of the 100 years that Macmillan Cancer Support has been in existance (as long as you don't count the leap years).
12/7/2011
A few more photos added to the Sunset to Sunrise 2011 gallery courtesy of Sue Hyde. if anyone else has photos that they would like to send drop them on to a CD and post them to me at the usual address, Bikers4macmillan, c/o 14 cedar close, ruskington, lincs, ng34 9fh of email me at admin@bikers4macmillan.org.uk and I'll send you a link to my dropbox account.

The 2011 Sunset to Sunrise Tour was a resoundung success. 33 bikes made it to the start and 32 made it to the finish - unfortunately one rider picked up a puncture on the way to the start and had to be traillered home!
Following on from last nights group meeting (more details about the meeting can be found in the files area under 'minutes') it was decided that there would be some minor changes to the route for next year as we have agreed with MacDonald's restaurant at Uttoxeter that they are going to stay open for us to get food (we get there about 12.30 - 1am) which means will will drop the Shardlow stop (fuel too expensive) and make another stop on the outskirts of Nottingham.
The GPS route for TomTom devices will be available to download from the files area once we make the changes and email info@bikers4macmillan if you have a different device and we will try to provide the route file for you with instructions as to how to load it to your device if you need them.
Final total for how much we raised will be notified here once we gat all the sponsorship money collected in and we are hoping to make the cheque presentation to Macmillan Cancer Support by the end of August.
If you took part in this years event and have money to pay in please send a personal cheque to Bikers4macmillan, c/o 14 Cedar Close, Ruskington, Lincolnshire, NG34 9FH. crossed and made payable to bikers4macmillan please.
The dates for Sunset to Sunrise Tour 2012 are the 23rd and 24th June amnd the registrations page will be opened at the end of July. However, please note that we are limiting numbers to 200 this year so make sure you secure your place by completing registration (including payment - Cheque or Paypal/Credit Card) sooner rather than later.

CMC Claycross motorcycles have just been added to our list of sponsors and thanks to them for sponsoring one of the riders with a full tank of fuel.
For those that are going across to the Sunset Ride on the Friday, The organisers are meeting in the Valley Hotel, Valley in the evening for a meal and glass of lemonade - you are most welcome to come and join us.
well, how time flies. It's been nearly a month since the Hot gossip page has last been updated but we've been really busy sorting out the final arrangements for the Sunset to Sunrise Tour 2011.
Points of note are that the South Stack Kitchen, now owned by RSPB, are going to stay open until we leave at 9.30pm which is great news for the last minute Coffee and Loo break. they normally stop serving food at 3pm but are going to put on a special limited menu, just for us, between 5pm and 7pm consisting of 2 meat and a vegitarian option.
The Mayor of Holyhead, Cllr Jeff Evans, is coming along to wave us off.
All the Police forces along our route have been contacted and approved the route again this year.
Loads of new events added to the Events pages, take a look and see if there's anything you fancy. Some of them are Bikers4Macmillan events and some are not but all are crackin' days/ evenings out!
We are now listed on Thebikerguide for the Sunset to Sunrise Tour - click the link to find out more.
The Spalding Bike show was, for us, a great event and if you're reading this as a result of picking up one of our flyers - welcome to the site.
Whilst at the show Guy Martin (IoM TT) dropped by for a chat, photos in the gallery, and was really complimentary about what we do.
Although the Spalding Bike show wasn't a fundraising event for us we still managed to get over £100 in the buckets so a good time was had by all.
if you follow us on Facebook short-notice rides will be notified on there. These will be last minute decisions based around the weather forecast and work commitments - you can post your rides on there too and we'll see if we can make it.
you can now follow us on twitter! search biker4macmillan (theres no 'S' in the name on twitter).
There is a new 'files' page on the site: From here you will be able to download; minutes of the Committee Meetings; Routes to from and for events; press releases, etc. the page can be found be going to: http://www.bikers4macmillan.org.uk/files.aspx
