We all know someone who has been touched by Cancer, a family member, friend, colleague or even the person who lives down the road.
Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support and push for better cancer care. Cancer affects us all. We can all help. We are Macmillan.
Bikers 4 Macmillan
are a fundraising group raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support through the common ground of an interest in Motorcycling.
The group was formed by the organisers of the very successful 'Over 40s Ride' which raised over £17k in 2008.
Our flagship event is the Sunset to Sunrise Tour.
Motorcyclists leaving south stack light house at Holyhead at sunset (about 9.40 pm) and riding through the night to get to Skegness for Sunrise (about 4 am). The event is held over the weekend closest to the shortest night of the year (21st June). The event is now in its third year and, elsewhere on the site, you can find pictures from previous years and more information about this years ride. As the event grows and word spreads we hope to be able to obtain significant commercial sponsorship – all of which goes to support the work of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Those wishing to register for the Sunset to Sunrise Tour 2011 on June 25th and 26th will be able to do so soon. Please keep checking the 'hot Gossip' page for the latest news.
This, and other events, including ride-in picnics, ride outs and visits/meetings are notified on our upcoming events page. Many of us also take part in the Ride to the Wall event held by the Royal British Legion on 2nd October 2010. More details on this event will be available closer to the date.
